It's been a long time since I have been looking for the perfect nude lipstick to add  to my makeup bag. And when I say "perfect" I mean: cheap, long lasting and not too glossy. A few weeks ago, I went to the beauty store I always go in my city, and after taking a look at different brands and trying out a bunch of lipstick testers, a shop assistant came where I was, asking if I needed any help. I noticed she was wearing a beautiful nude/beige lipstick and I asked her about it. This is how I came back home with my Maybelline Stay 14 HR.

I have been using it for a couple of weeks so here is my opinion about the three main characteristics I consider important in a lipstick:

Colour: 10/10
When I went to the store Maybelline Stay 14HR was available in only eight different colours, as shown below:

From left to right:
150 (On and On Pink)/ 160 (Infinitely Fuchsia)/ 510 (Non Stop Red)/540 (Ravishing Rouge)/ 610 (Beige for Good)/ 210 (Mauve Tourjois)/ 260 (Always Plum)

But taking a look at Maybelline US store I have seen there are twenty colours available in total  (you can check them out at this link, although the numeration is different, which it is quite confusing depending of which country you live).

I finally got "Beige for Good" and I must say the colour is so beautiful. It fits perfectly well my skin tone and it looks very natural. The tone is exactly what I was looking for: something I can wear on my daily rutine without feeling that I have my lips overloaded.

Texture: 6/10
The texture is very creamy and when you aply it for first time, you have the feeling that your lips are getting an extra dose of moisturizing. You might be thinking: "ok why does she just give.s it a 6 over 10?". Well, the answer is simple. This moisturizing sensation only lasts the first ten minutes. After a while, my lips become a little bit sticky.

Lasting effect: 4/10
I bought this product because I didn't want to reapply my lipstick all the time (specially with a nude colour which tends to fade away much easier than a bright colour). In my opinion, there is no "stay" effect and it fades away quite easily, I have to reapply it each hour or so the name of "14HR Lasting" is quite wrong, to be honest.

Conclusion: 7/10
I am in love with the colour but not with its lasting effect. I forgot to mention that it cost aound 8€, which is not bad, but I have cheaper lipsticks that last longer. Maybelline has amazing products like their eye mascaras and foundations, but this lipstick isn't one of their best products.
